Municipality of Velenje acquires an Alke XT 320 EL electric vehicle

As part of the In My Back Yard (IMBY) project, funded by the European Union under the Slovenia–Croatia Operational Programme 2007–2013, the Municipality of Velenje has purchased an Alke XT 320EL professional electric work vehicle.

The two general aims of the project are to improve residents' quality of life and to protect nature and the environment. The most important foundation for sustainable development is a sustainable system for managing waste, natural resources and energy.

A futuristic design and top technical features distinguish the XT series. The XT 320 EL is an extremely robust and sophisticated electric delivery vehicle with outstanding characteristics. It is unrivalled in its class. The XT 320EL is homologated (N1) and can be registered for road use. It features a robust loading platform that can take a payload of up to 1.000 kg and a towing capacity of 4.000 kg. The XT 320EL has a system for monitoring and diagnosing faults in the electronic parts of the motor, the batteries and all electrical devices.

The electric work vehicle will be used to collect and transport items from households, which will significantly help the Re-use Centre work even better. This will help us achieve the goals of the Velenje Re-use Centre even more successfully: reducing waste volumes and the number of illegal dumps, re-use, and improving the social and economic status of the population.
